“Death is the fairest thing in the world. No one’s ever gotten out of it. The earth takes everyone — the kind, the cruel, the sinners. Aside from that, there’s no fairness on earth.” — Svetlana Aleksievich
The notion that the Universe is punishing us for something is like an ancient human superstition from a forgotten time.
This belief may have originated from a desire to make sense of the randomness and chaos of life.
I’m afraid I have to disagree with it.
We live on a tiny planet in an infinite expanse of space, and our struggles are nothing compared to the ongoing processes of nature.
While it might feel personal and cosmic when we experience misfortunes, they are part of the natural fabric of living and dying.
Life has an extraordinary power over humans that cannot be explained by sheer reason.
Still, those moments hold no mystical powers for me to explain why certain things happen to certain people — because, in reality, it doesn’t matter why it happened to them or didn’t happen to me.
And even if we could know the answer to those questions, it wouldn’t change the outcome of our lives.
Ultimately, we are in control of our destinies. We decide how to respond to obstacles, how to use our experiences for growth and learning, and when to take a chance on something new.
Our successes and failures — big or small — are part of the human experience that makes us who we are today and help shape the people we will become tomorrow.
The notion of the universe ‘punishing’ certain people for perceived misdeeds and ‘rewarding’ others who have been good is funny to me.
While it offers a degree of comfort in a world that sometimes makes little sense, a more productive perspective would be to recognize that there is no escape from suffering.
To assume we are exempt from pain, loss, and hardship is misguided and naive. The truth is that life comes with no special privileges or exemptions.
If resilience were bestowed on us as divine law, everyone would laugh at calamity — something I’m sure none of us wish to do, even during our most trying moments.
So, instead of asking ‘why me?’ let’s start asking ourselves how to become stronger in facing adversities brought upon us by humanity’s precarious condition.
Let’s take this opportunity to appreciate the beauty of our common humanity and learn how to respond better rather than dwell on why certain things happen to some people and not others.
By doing so, we can ensure that whatever life throws at us, we will be prepared with the tools necessary to take it on.
In other words, let us all seek out opportunities to become wiser and more resilient in facing life’s challenges. That is much more productive than believing that the Universe is punishing us for something.
One Could Argue That the Universe IS Punishing You
If so, What are you going to do about it?
Well, that depends on what it is punishing you for.
In most cases, the best way to address any punishment from the Universe is to take responsibility for your actions and make an effort to improve yourself.
This means accepting accountability and striving to become better.
If we can take ownership of our mistakes, learn from them, and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose, no matter what the Universe throws us, we can handle it!
That’s my philosophy, anyway!
And I encourage everyone else to adopt a similar attitude and be prepared when adversity presents itself.
So, the next time you feel like the Universe is punishing you, remember this: You have a choice. Accept your circumstances and use them as an opportunity to take control of your destiny.
With that mindset, there’s no telling what you can do!
No matter what life brings us, face it with courage and resilience.
We are all in this together, after all.
Let’s ensure we don’t miss any chances to become better people because of whatever misfortunes.
“Do not complain of life’s unfairness. It is never fair — at best it is impartial.”
― David Gemmell
Face the Truth: We Are Not That Important.
Our comfort and convenience are not the top priority for the Universe.
The Universe does not revolve around us, and our existence is limited.
In truth, we are small compared to the grand expanse of everything that exists; so much of what happens on this planet and beyond is out of our control.
We must accept this reality and acknowledge our collective insignificance while recognizing that each life carries its unique value and importance.
Although we are all connected, we are alone in our separate paths through life, influenced by countless forces far more significant than ourselves.
Acknowledging this will help us cope with the chaos of life and learn to appreciate the journey instead of trying to find meaning in every little thing.
Be brave and accept the truth — we are unimportant in this big picture.
Take solace in knowing that you are still an individual with your own beloved life story, worth every effort to make it better.
That is resilience!
Nature doesn’t care about our wants or needs. We must accept this and find ways to cope with it by embracing the beauty of change and embracing the power of resilience.
We are capable of greatness — let’s start proving it now. 💪🏼❤️
Never give up, no matter what life throws at you! You can do anything if you put your mind to it — so don’t forget that when times get tough. Believe in yourself, stay positive, and keep pushing until you reach your goals.
Challenging the Belief
Let’s challenge the belief that the Universe is punishing us for something.
Instead of seeing the world as a place of punishment, let’s view it as an opportunity to become better people and find our true purpose.
Challenging experiences are possibilities to grow, learn and develop new skills.
It’s up to us to choose how we respond — do we give in easily or take ownership of what’s happened and use it to improve ourselves?
We must try not to give into fear or frustration when things don’t go as planned. Life will always bring challenges, but how we react to them matters most!
Let’s not assume any outside force is working against us — instead, let’s take control of our destiny and make the best of every situation. We can always find something positive in every experience.
Life is a journey filled with uncertainties. Don’t let the fear of the unknown stop you from reaching your goals.
Be courageous and take risks when necessary — you never know what incredible rewards await you on the other side!
Even if things don’t always go according to plan, don’t give up hope — keep pushing forward until you find success.
“But the universe isn’t fair. Things don’t work out neatly, pain, hardship and challenges divided equally among those best equipped to deal with them. Sometimes individuals have to be Atlases and carry the weight of the world alone. It shouldn’t happen that way, but it does.” — Darren Shan
Instead of asking, “why me?” we should ask ourselves how to become more assertive in adversity.
Challenges are the best way to define our true potential and realize our capabilities.
So, never let go of your resilience and be brave enough to embrace change — it will open up a beautiful new world for you! 🤗✨👍🏼
Good luck on your resilience journey!
